SEL With and Without Ozobots
Culture influences not only what students learn but how they learn. During this tumultuous school year, students, schools, and families have been impacted by the pandemic in ways we cannot see on the surface, and even more so depending on students' culture, race, or other forms of identity.

In this webinar, we will touch CASEL's five competencies and the organization's commitment to equity; learn the long-term benefits of SEL in school and at home; create surveys together to assess the mental well-being of educators, students, staff, and families; connect SEL back to robotics, specifically, and STEM as a whole.

Robotics hits the sweet spots for many students - it's a subject/hobby/field that allows students to decompress, tinker, and collaborate. Embedding culturally-affirming SEL curriculum and activities will enhance students' connection to robotics as well as bridge the gap between traditional science/tech and community-driven, culturally-competent pedagogy.
